What to Expect During Sensory Hours
Held on select Sunday mornings from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, Sensory Hours allow guests to enjoy the museum with:
- Adjusted exhibit lighting and sound effects
- No band organ music played during the session
- Hands-on activities and sensory-friendly demonstrations
- A calm, unhurried pace that welcomes everyone just as they are
Guests can explore the exhibits at their own comfort level in a supportive, low-stimulation environment, guided by staff who understand the importance of inclusive programming.
Regular Admission, Special Experience
Sensory Hours are included with regular museum admission, making them an easy and affordable way for all families to visit. Guests are welcome to come for the full two hours or stay for as long as they feel comfortable.
A Commitment to Community Inclusion
By introducing Sensory Hours, the Herschell Carrousel Factory Museum reinforces its commitment to accessibility and community connection. The museum has long been a place of nostalgia and learning, and this new program ensures those experiences are available to more visitors than ever before.
